Case Study: Lenticular Wristbands - Security & Design
The creation of promotional pieces for highly publicized events that required unprecedented security is a never-ending challenge. Keeping ahead of counterfeiters and finding new ways to enhance security is the number one priority in putting together a customized design and security solution.
Palaimon specializes in non-duplicatable items which neither the counterfeiters, nor the competition, are able to reproduce. From design to delivery, these pieces are visually impressive and fully functional.
The Situation In 2007, a festival organized for the world’s largest rock concert had suffered losses as a result of the sale of thousands of counterfeit wrist bands the previous year.
The Challenge For 2008, the wristband solution needed to address all the concerns from the previous year as well as several other logistical challenges. There were over eighteen different wrist bands required, all with independent readable bar codes and all that required sequenced numbering as well.
The Solution Palaimon created lenticular “flip” image wristbands which could not be duplicated. In addition, we produced the only readable bar code ever printed on a lenticular substrate.
The Result “We were impressed and pleased with the efforts organizers made in the design of their wristbands this year. We’ve had no problems with counterfeiting and this made a significant contribution to ensuring the policing of the event ran smoothly and safely.” -Inspector Terry Clawson for the 2008 Isle of Wight Festival
